Dataprise Women in Technology: Meet Nancy

This month our Women in Technology, we are spotlights Nancy, one of our Service Delivery Managers! Read about her story and how she started in technology.

Tell us your story on how you got into technology.

I used to work as a department coordinator for an Enterprise Data and Analytics team. My manager at the time would encourage me to take SQL courses, and with that, I was also able to comprehend my team’s responsibilities and operations and learn more about technology in general.

Did you always know that working in technology was what you wanted to do?

No, technology is not something I ever envisioned myself doing. But I am happy and grateful to be in the role that I am in today.

How long have you been with Dataprise?

Almost 2 years.

Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?

In my position as a Service Delivery Manager, a typical day involves delivering client support, resolving issues, and conducting meetings to ensure we optimize cost savings while keeping the account current and aligned with our clients’ needs.  

What advice would you give to women considering a career in the tech industry? What do you wish you had known?

Don’t let stereotypes discourage you; be confident and advocate for yourself. I wish I had known the importance of networking early on in my career.

Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry? How can the broader community support women in tech?

Having more women in the tech industry brings diverse perspectives. The broader community can support women in tech by providing mentorship opportunities.

What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?

The opportunity to inspire change, break barriers, and contribute to a more inclusive tech landscape.

What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?

Problem solving, assisting our clients, and making sure that they are happy.

What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?

Push past your comfort zone, embrace challenges, and learn from uncomfortable experiences.

Where do you see yourself going from here?

I’m not sure, but I’m excited about the future and eager to continue growing within Dataprise.
